Atchoo!

Scottish Paddington has a cold! He has been sneezing all day and all night. He needs to wrap up warmer during the winter.
Little Paddington was worried he might have swine flu, but Daddy Paddington says it is just a cold, and Daddy Paddington is a very wise bear.

Cake-making Bear

I like to bake cakes in my spare time. My favourite is Orange Tutti-Frutti Cake. Yum yum.

Playing with the fire engine

This is Cousin Paddington playing with his fire engine.

Tiny Paddington enjoyed playing with the fire engine too. He was the driver, and Cousin Paddington helped him steer.

Policeman Paddington

This is Policeman Paddington. He is a Sergeant. He spends his day apprehending criminals and protecting all his relatives. There isn't much crime on his patch, but he is ready and willing to chase naughty bears when he has to!

Mackintosh Paddington and Tibby

This is Mackintosh Paddington's friend, Tibby. Tibby is a wise old cat, and he likes napping in the afternoons. Both Mackintosh Paddington and Tibby don't like it when it rains, but at least Mackintosh Paddington has an umbrella ready! Poor Tibby no longer has an umbrella - he had a lovely one once, but he left it on a train.

Marmite Paddington drying off

Marmite Paddington had spent the afternoon having a water fight with his little friends. He was very wet, and so he got the older bears to hang him up on the washing line so that he could get dry in the sunshine.
I hope his marmite sandwiches in his suitcase didn't get wet too!

Scottish Paddington likes gardening

Scottish Paddington is a keen gardener. He is planting some seeds in the soil. He is hoping to grow some nice carrots.

Scottish Paddington

This is Scottish Paddington. He is our relation from Scotland. He wears a lovely kilt.

Paddington's pretend holiday

Not all bears are as wealthy as Daddy Paddington, and some of us cannot afford to go on holiday this year. The recession has been especially hard on the younger generation of Peruvian immigrant bears.

This is me pretending to be on holiday instead. I am pretending to be on a beach in Thailand. Isn't it lovely! If I really was on the beach I wouldn't need my duffel coat, that's for sure!

Daddy Paddington is going on holiday

Daddy Paddington is packing his suitcase so that he can go away on a nice holiday.
He has to have a very big suitcase to pack plenty of Marmalade!

My friend, Mr Andrex Puppy

This is my good friend Mr Andrex Puppy. He really likes Wispa bars. Yum yum!

Football bear

My favourite sport is football. In Peru, football is very popular. My favourite player is Robbie Fowler. He is not from Peru. I like to copy him and wear tape over my nose. It helps my breathing. This is useful in Peru, where we play a lot of football at high altitude where it is harder to breathe.

Daddy Paddington also likes playing football. As he is old, he does not play very often. Daddy Paddington also likes Robbie Fowler. Back in his glory days, Daddy Paddington was a really good player, and he tells me that he once played with Pele, Bobby Moore and Maradona.

I am still a small bear, and football is quite hard when the ball is almost as big as you are! Even so, I try my best, and enjoy the exercise and excitement of playing. One day I might be good enough to play for the Peruvian national team!

Little Paddington's dog

This is Little Paddington's new friend, his little dog. He is a black spaniel, and is just as naughty as Little Paddington!

My new car!

I like my big red car. It's the same colour as my lovely duffel coat. Daddy Paddington thinks I am too little to drive it!

Help!

Oh dear! I got stuck on the door hook! Little Paddington tried to help me down but he wasn't tall enough! I had to wait until Daddy Paddington could set me free.

I think I am scared of heights now!

Perfect bear

I'm a perfect bear!

Bear in a handbag

I was trying to escape the house and go on an outdoors adventure, so I climbed into Mrs Macy's Bear's handbag. As you can see, I got stuck!

Bear Idol

One of my favourite television programs is 'Bear Idol', where a lot of bears sing songs, and the best singer wins a prize. This is my audition for Bear Idol 2009. I hope I get on the show!

Mrs Macy's bear

This is my friend Mrs Macy's bear. We had a lovely lunch together. We shared a salad of grapes and tomatoes.

Me and Mrs Macy's bear then sat down and watched a nice movie together.

Hoovering difficulties

Today I decided to do the hoovering for Daddy Paddington. He finds it harder to hoover in his old age. The problem is, I am a little bear, and the hoover is very big! It took me 3 hours to find a way to just reach the top of the hoover!

I think hoovering is for bigger bears.

Naughty corner

After the 'sellotape incident', Little Paddington was sent to the naughty corner to think about what a naughty little bear he is.

Sellotape bear

Today Little Paddington decided to wrap up a nice present for Daddy Paddington using sellotape. The problem was that sellotape happens to be quite sticky, and he got all wrapped up in it!

Little Paddington was so wrapped up in sellotape that he fell over! He needed me to come and help him get free! What a mischievous bear!

Why bears shouldn't use sewing machines

Cousin Paddington had ripped a hole in his lovely blue coat, so he decided to mend it himself using the sewing machine. It's a good job he did not know how to turn the machine on, because it is very dangerous for little bears to play with sewing machines. They should always let older bears do their sewing for them!

Great Great Grandfather Paddington

This is a picture of Great Great Grandpa Paddington, taken all the way back in 1886. Life was very different for Peruvian immigrant bears back in those days. Isn't the family resemblance striking?

Abseiling bear

Little Paddington has taken up abseiling! As he is a very little bear, he is only allowed to abseil from the hook that usually holds the hanging baskets! When he gets bigger he may be able to abseil from bigger heights, possibly as tall as the washing line. Little Paddington carries his suitcase with him even when abseiling - he needs to keep his favourite marmalade sandwiches close, just in case he gets hungry!

Bird watcher bear

Daddy Paddington is an avid bird watcher, and he often spends his days looking at the lovely birds in our garden. Here he is reading his favourite book about all the different types of birds.

Warming up!

After playing in the snow, both Daddy Paddington and Mr Monkey were freezing cold! The quickest way to get warm was to hug each other.

Daddy Paddington and Mr Monkey play in the snow

Daddy Paddington hadn't seen snow for a long time, so he decided to go outside and play. It was then that he remembered how cold the snow was! Older bears should be especially careful in the snow. Daddy Paddington had his emergency spoon in his pocket just in case he was trapped by an avalanche and needed to dig his way out.

Mr Monkey decided that he would play in the snow too, but pretty quickly he realised that monkeys aren't equipped for snowy weather! Oh how he wished he could have nice warm wellington boots and a duffel coat like Daddy Paddington. It's too cold for monkeys!

Beefeater Paddington braves the snow

Beefeater Paddington is a very proud bear. He takes his work very seriously. Even snow won't stop him doing his job! It was cold standing still all day long though!

Reading the paper

One of my favourite hobbies is reading. It is important for little bears to read a lot. I like to read the newspaper, even though some of the stories are a bit complicated for me!

Saturday, 17 January 2009

Chocolate bear

Little Paddington loves his chocolate. He always eats too much. What a naughty little bear he is!

Tuesday, 13 January 2009

Little Paddington and Mr Robin

This is Little Paddington's friend, Mr Robin. He likes to fly around our garden. I wish I could fly like him! At this time of year it is cold for robins too. Little Paddington likes to leave nuts and bread out for the birds to eat.

Friday, 9 January 2009

Oh no!

Please DO feed the bears!

Little Paddington's snow adventures

Poor Little Paddington! We had to dig him out of the snow! I don't think he will start any snow fights again!

Little Paddington liked being able to see his footsteps in the snow.

Snowfight

I had a snow fight with Little Paddington, and it seems that he struck the first blow ...

.... but I won in the end! Poor Little Paddington was covered in snow! It's a good job he was wrapped up properly. It took him a long time to get warm afterwards. He had a mug of tea and a marmalade sandwich whilst sitting on the radiator to warm up!

Snow!

Little Paddington had never seen snow before and was very excited when he saw the garden all covered in white! The snow was very cold though and he had to wrap up warm. Little bears should always wear hats and gloves (and big thick blue duffel coats) when they play in the snow.
